How To Fix The Leaks In Google Sniper
Google Sniper by George Brown launched October 15 of this year and has been a resounding success. It teaches readers how to create an empire of small websites that pull in money. While Google Sniper works, it does omit teaching one critical area of SEO, but you can fill in that knowledge gap with this article.
The basics of Google Sniper involve picking a low competition keyword, writing content to fit that keyword theme, using good on page SEO, and finishing up with a review or story to market your product. George pretty much covers everything you need to know about those areas in Google Sniper. However, the system revolves around the assumption that your chosen keyword’s level of competition is low enough that you will rank naturally without engaging in any link building.
Whether you’re new or old to internet marketing, I’m sure you know its not always that easy to find these keyword gems. Without that critical keyword selection, your site is probably not going to land on the first page, and the first page is where the sales are.
So how do we fix this problem?
The easiest solution to this issue is to simply build links pointing to your site. However, due to George’s aversion to link building, he only discusses this on a cursory level in Google Sniper. Given that issue, I thought I’d give you a quick primer on some basic ways of link building here.
1. Social Bookmarking: George says most of what needs to be said on these. Don’t make these the foundation of your link building efforts though, most of them are no-follow, so Google doesn’t give them a ton of weight.
2. Link Wheels: This involves making a bunch of web 2.0 blogs that link to each other in a circle, and then pointing a link from all of them to your money site. You can find more info by Googling “linkwheel”.
3. Profile Links: Many high page rank sites allow users to create personal profiles on their site, and often include an area where you can place a link. MTV.com and TED.com are good examples of this type of site.
4. Blog Commenting: This involves seeking out relevant blogs and posting a comment, using your keywords for your name and placing the page you want to link back to in the URL field. It is important when doing this to actually read the blog post and make an intelligent, relevant comment, otherwise the comment will most likely be deleted.
5. Article Submission: Write good articles and submit them to good article directories. You get a resource box at the end of your article where you can put a short bio or a call to action followed by a link to your money site. Since these articles usually rank quite well by themselves, you’ll find that you get a bit of referral traffic in addition to your backlink.
The 5 techniques above will give you the foundation of link building, which you can use to increase your Google rankings no matter how tough your competition is. With this knowledge, you’ve now filled the only major gap in the Google Sniper system, and you’re ready to take the internet by storm. Get to the site building, there are buyers waiting for you!
